Common questions
How are passwords generated?
This tool uses your browser’s cryptographic random-number generator. Every selected character category is included, and the character order is shuffled.
What does “exclude similar characters” mean?
It removes characters such as uppercase O, lowercase l, I, 0 and 1 that can be confusing when reading or typing a password.
Can I recover a generated password?
No. The tool does not store password history. Save a password before leaving or generating another one. Copying puts it on your device clipboard, where your device’s normal clipboard rules apply.
