PRIVACY & SECURITY
Check your password.
Spot weak patterns.
Get a local strength estimate and practical suggestions as you type.
How strong is your password?
We check common words, repetitions and predictable sequences.
Your password stays in this page. It is not stored or sent to our server or Analytics.
This is an estimate, not a check for leaked passwords.
How this password checker works
The checker uses the open-source zxcvbn estimator locally to look for common passwords, dictionary words, keyboard sequences, dates and repeated patterns. It combines those matches to produce a strength estimate. Simply adding a symbol to a common password may still leave it easy to guess.
Make your next password harder to guess
Use a unique password for each account. Generate a long random password with our password generator, or create randomly selected words with our passphrase generator. Store credentials in a password manager and enable two-factor authentication.
Common questions
Does a strong result guarantee my account is safe?
No. This tool estimates guessability. It cannot tell whether the password has been leaked, reused, phished or exposed by another device. It does not check a breach database.
Is my password uploaded?
No. The checker runs on your device using a bundled estimator. No password, password score or input text is sent to Analytics, and we do not keep password history.
Why can a password with symbols still be weak?
Predictable substitutions and patterns can be guessed. Length helps, but random selection and avoiding common phrases also matter.
What happens when I clear or leave the page?
Clear removes the input and result. The checker does not save your password in browser storage. Your own browser or device may have separate autofill or clipboard features.
