Blender free download for Windows, Mac and Linux
Choose a safe package from Blender Foundation’s website. This page explains what each download option means before you install it.
Use the official Blender download
The main Blender download page detects a platform and also lists alternatives. At the time of this review, Blender 5.2.2 LTS is the current official download. Check the version displayed on blender.org because releases can change after this guide is published.
Choose the correct package
| Platform | Typical option | Use it when |
|---|---|---|
| Windows | Installer | You want Start menu entries and .blend file association. |
| Windows | Portable ZIP | You want Blender in a folder without a normal installation. |
| macOS | Apple silicon DMG | Your Mac uses an M-series Apple chip and meets the current macOS requirement. |
| Linux | Official archive or package option | You want Blender Foundation’s current build; distribution packages may have a different version. |
Stable, LTS or experimental?
The latest stable release is suitable for most people. A Long-Term Support release receives bug-fix updates for a longer period and can suit ongoing projects. Experimental builds are for testing new work and may damage or change project behavior, so do not use them as the only copy for an important file.
Before opening the installer
- Check the current Blender system requirements.
- Confirm whether the computer uses x64, Windows ARM or Apple silicon.
- Back up existing .blend projects before updating.
- Download from blender.org, the Microsoft Store, Steam or another source linked by Blender itself.
